I decided to move the ongoing news and other blurbs from the main page that are out of date to this page...it's kind of a record of the things that have happened to the band.

This is the text from the original web page I put up when the band first got started. This was written in 1996, with an update at the beginning of 1997.

This is the home page of Nobody's Fool, Mansfield Ohio's most interesting new band, and also a part of the home page of Jim Schwan, Bass Player in Nobody's Fool. We're a Blues, R&B, and Classic Rock band based in Mansfield, Ohio, consisting of 4 borderline nutcases: Jim -"where's my slide?"-Bush (lead guitar & vocals), Jim-"I am NOT too loud...am I?"-Schwan (bass guitar, vocals), Kris-"I drink alone, but you guys won't let me"- Kosa (lead guitar, vocals), and Jerry-"wanna buy some drums?"- Bandy (drums, vocals). We're currently the "house band" at the Japanese Steakhouse in Mansfield, Ohio, and perform on Saturday nights, from 9-12pm.

UPDATE!!! As of 1/1/97, Nobody's Fool has re-grouped! Leaving are Jim Bush, and Jerry Bandy, and coming in is Tom Getz, Drummer Extraordinaire...and as a trio, the band will continue, after reworking their songlist, and getting some gigs booked, as they are no longer the House Band at the Japanese Steakhouse Maki. The new Nobody's Fool is in rehearsal, and will be playing out in the near future. The band's sound is tighter and more focused, and while we will still play some blues, we want to explore more of the British Invasion and mid 60's Rock, as well as having a slightly more Alternative angle to what we play. With a shift away from Blues and toward a more mainstream rock sound, we hope to appeal to a wider audience...after all, who would think of coming to hear the Blues and R&B at a Sushi bar?????

NOBODY'S FOOL is the ultimate testament to the principle that the "golden age" of rock music was the decade 1964 through 1974. Formed in 1997 by three talented veterans of the North Central Ohio music scene, NOBODY'S FOOL is not fossilized in nostalgia, but rather is dedicated to melding the fun attitude, improvisational daring, and instrumental virtuosity of that decade's rock superstars and supergroups with the advanced sound technology and professional presentation of today's premiere performers.

Kris Kosa (Lead Guitar/Vocals), Jim Schwan (Bass/Guitar/Vocals), and Tom Getz (Drums/Vocals), each with over 25 years' of performing and recording experience in a variety of musical formats, truly enjoy instilling new life and fresh nuance into their vast and varied repertoire of Classic Rock, British Invasion, Motown, and Rhythm and Blues selections. And, their enjoyment shows!

NOBODY'S FOOL delights in putting their own unique, original twist to the finest works of such stellar artists as Cream, The Doors, Eric Clapton, Van Morrison, the Animals, The Rolling Stones, Willie Dixon, Otis Redding, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, and The Yardbirds, to name but a few. With the classic "Power Trio" lineup, NOBODY'S FOOL explores the limits of the music they play, all the while hammering out a beat that dares you to keep still! All three musicians sing, and harmonize easily and effectively. In short, these guys have paid some dues, and really know how to make music.

NOBODY'S FOOL is nobody's jukebox! Rather, they will transport you "back to the future" where live musicianship is about exploration and discovery, laughter and sweat, and knocking elbows on the crowded dance floor---and rock & roll isn't a college course!

From late summer 1998...

Check This Out!

We just had the coolest thing happen to us! Nobody's Fool was asked to open a show for Peter Green (founder of Fleetwood Mac, and one of the world's best Blues guitarists) at Wilbert's Bar & Grill in Cleveland on Thursday, August 27. We had a fantastic set playing to a standing-room-only crowd, and were very well received by the wonderful people there! We got to hang backstage with Peter and his band, Splinter Group, and had a ball! We'd like to thank Mike, and the rest of the crew at Wilbert's, and we're looking forward to being able to do this again in the near future! What a great night!

HOLIDAY MESSAGE!

All of us in Nobody's Fool would like to wish all of our fans and friends a safe and happy Holiday Season. In the midst of all the hustle and bustle, don't lose sight of the things that really matter: family, friends, and the real reason for the season, the birth of Christ. Make the time to invest in the things that endure and have meaning, take some time to help those less fortunate, and remember that we're all in this thing called life together. Jim Morrison said "No one gets out of here alive", and you know, he's right! While we're here, let's try to make the world a better place, and try to remember that most of the things we think are so important now won't mean much 100 years from now. If we can each try to do one thing that has real meaning, and true lasting power in our lifetimes, we can make a real difference! Think about it!

Happy Holidays from Nobody's Fool......!!!!!

A CRIME has been committed!

On January 4, 1999, someone stole a Hartke 410TP speaker cabinet from the stage at Goodfellows, during the day. This cabinet belonged to Jim Schwan, the bass player in Nobody's Fool, and he is very upset about its loss. We figure the thief is (or was) a musician, probably a bass player, and may have stolen it for his own use. Nobody's Fool is offering a reward for information leading to the apprehension of the thief. Contact us at the e-mail address on this page (nbdysfool@usa.net), or call Frank Medley at (419)522-0065 with the information.

As of 2/21/99, no news has come of the location of the stolen cabinet. I have gotten a replacement for it, and am taking steps to ensure that it remains in my possession. I still would like to find out who stole the speaker cabinet, if for no other reason than to ask this person why he thought he had to steal that particular item, and to insist that he re-imburse me for it, in effect buying it from me. Considering that it would be in his best interest to do so,(can anybody say Grand Theft?) Maybe that will be the end of it.
